Marakai Challenge

Every year there is a competition on cooking.  People in Nui can enter recipes and they choose some groups to do it. I signed up to do it with my friend we got in and so we have to do the cook off on Friday. The rules were that we had to do 2 dishes and they could be a main, drink, side or dessert and there had to be 5 ingredients from our school garden. We did a main and a dessert. Our main is filled pasta with pasta sauce and our dessert is cheesecake in a glass. Here are 2 photos of our dishes.

Winter Solstice

In class we have been learning about the Winter Solstice. For one of our priorities ,priorities are things that we have to finish off by the end of the week, we had to do mapping of Stonehenge, Newgrange and Maeshowe. This was proof to the teacher so that they know that we know about the Winter Solstice. This is what we found out.

Rhythmical And Gymnastics Festival

Last week we had the Gisborne Gymnastics Festival. Me and a few other friends all ready do competitive gymnastics. We only did beam, floor and box. At our gymnastics competitions we do floor, bar, vault and beam. Rhythmical was really fun. We had been practicing in our lunch time and in the school holidays so that we would remember it. The time had come we were all nervous but excited at the same time.

Terrific Turbo Diner

 In my Writing group(EL3) we have been watching some videos about a thing called a Turbo Diner. We had to explain about the Turbo Diner and what it was. Our writing group had to describe all the parts of the Turbo Diner. We had groups of 3 or 4 in my group it was me, Ruby and Seve. The part that we had was the photo in the top right. It was where the machine came down and puts nice hot steaming food on the table.

Electric Village & Museum

Mystery Animal

 In our class we have done 3 quick writes and one of them was guess the animal. This was one of the quick writes that we had to do for our priorities. Priorities are things that we have to finish by the end of the week. They are normally 4 quick writes, basic facts and word work. It was guess the animal out of these three.

Domestic Cats

We have quick writes for our priorities. If you don't know what quick writes are they are bits of writing and this was one of them. I like the poems the best because you get to mix up the words.
